About Me

rosphoto

I am an accredited and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist offering a comprehensive CBT service. This is a very practical treatment that helps people deal with a range of physical and psychological problems including couples counselling, bereavement, depression and anxiety. I have a particular expertise in working with relationship issues including psychosexual therapy. I believe CBT offers an effective model for prompting personal change.

I also offer EMDR which stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. This therapy is used to treat a wide range of psychological difficulties that may have begun through trauma. EMDR is often helpful in reducing distress in a relatively short time.

I work with clients face-to-face in either a comfortable town centre office in the centre of Oswestry within 50 yards of the main car park, or from my clinic close to the Lion Quays Hotel on the A5. I also offer support  online, through email and by telephone. I am based within easy travelling distance of Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales.

I  offer supervision to trainees and qualified psychotherapists.

Key roles have included therapy and supervision, coaching, counselling in a GP practice and within a private clinic.  I also have experience as a university lecturer.

I am committed to the BABCP Standards of Conduct and  subject to their complaints procedures.

I believe that enthusiasm and optimism can create a mix of energy and motivation and  I work with people to make this a reality.

Quotes from Clients:

“Ros – it is enormously helpful to have your guidance, and to know that I can call upon your sympathetic, intelligent and understanding therapy.”

“Dear Ros just to say a massive THANK YOU to you for tonight and for all our sessions with you. We find talking to you so helpful and tonight we feel so much closer, like we can really get through all this stuff, with your help! So thanks Ros, you’re a real marriage saver! God bless you from us both.”

“Ros helped us identify triggers for our rows and the underlying feelings involved. This enabled us to put in place measures to prevent repeating patterns of behaviour. We now feel empowered and know it is possible to prevent these rows and our relationship has improved no end. Ros is completely impartial and direct which is great because everyone needs to hear a few home truths once in a while! Thank you Ros.”

“Just to say thanks Ros for helping me move on from a tough couple of years. A heart attack, and then kidney cancer left me low on self confidence and struggling to cope at work. I feel I now have the clarity and belief in myself to move on”
